Who are the D’Agostinos you may ask? First of all, let me tell you who we are NOT! We are NOT your typical ministry couple. Mark is the pastor’s husband and I am the pastor, and he will let you know that the first time you meet him. That does not embarrass him; and I think I can safely say he is actually very proud of it. We are not alike. Mark loves country life. I could handle living closer to a city. I love to read. Mark prefers to just let me tell him how the story ends. I have a personality that craves attention and a need for people to laugh at me and with me. Mark has a personality that looks at people like me and usually does anything except laugh. And yet in some way we have become best friends. We love spending time together. We look forward to going for car rides along the country roads of our small country town. We enjoy being outside and going for an occasional motorcycle ride, or just sitting together to watch fireflies on a peaceful summer night. We have both become football fans and enjoy cheering on the Eagles or Tennessee Volunteers (ok, I’m a bigger fan of the Vols than Mark). We cherish the time we have with our family and friends.
We also enjoy serving in ministry together. We have become quite an interesting team. While Mark prefers more of the “behind the scenes” aspects of ministry, I’m the one who actually gains energy from being in front of people. As we seek to grow closer to Christ, we find ourselves growing more in love with serving others in this particular ministry setting. Our desire is to love those around us by reaching the lost, touching the hurting, and encouraging everyone to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
